Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how AI Courses Reviewed ("we", "us") handles information when you visit aicoursesreviewed.com (the "Site").
Information collected when you visit
- Request data. To deliver and protect the Site, our hosting provider processes the standard details of each request: IP address, browser type, the page asked for and the referring address.
- First-party analytics. We wrote the small script that runs on each page, and it reports to our own server alone. It records the pages you view and their address (campaign tags such as utm_source included), the page that sent you here, your screen and window size, how far you scroll and how long the page stays in view, whether a recommendation comes into view, and the links and buttons you click, with their text, their address and where you clicked. Nothing in it comes from another company; it sets no cookies of its own and keeps nothing in your browser.
- Browser and device type. From the user agent your browser sends, our server takes the browser name and version, the operating system and the device type (desktop, mobile or tablet). The user agent itself is not recorded.
- Approximate location. From your connection, our hosting provider gives our server a country, region and city. We keep that approximate location and never your IP address.
The visitor cookie
There is one cookie, and it is first-party: our server sets it on aicoursesreviewed.com. Inside are a random visitor ID, a count of your visits, the time of your last visit and a check code that proves our server issued it. We use it to count visits and to tell returning visitors from new ones. Scripts on the page cannot read it, it travels only to this Site and only over secure connections, and it lapses 400 days after your last visit. Your browser settings let you delete it at any time.
Links to companies we recommend
Links to a company we recommend, which some articles name as our top pick, go first to an address on this Site. Our server notes the click (which page it was on, where the link sat and which of that company's pages it points to) and then passes you on to that company's website. The address you land on carries a one-time click ID, your visitor ID, the name of this Site, the page you came from and a signature proving the link came from this Site, so the company can tie your visit to its website to your visits here. No visitor ID is passed when the rules under Your privacy choices apply to you. Money and recommendations identifies the company and our connection to it.
Analytics provider
The events described here go from our server to PostHog, Inc., our analytics processor, together with the visitor ID, the device key and the approximate location. PostHog stores and processes them for us in the United States. Your IP address, user agent, name and email address are never sent to it.
The company we recommend as our top pick runs its own website on the same analytics account, so our analytics account is shared with that company and it can see the events described here.
How we recognize a device
For each event our server also derives a device key by running your IP address and user agent through a keyed one-way function and keeping 32 characters of the result. A browser on the same connection produces the same device key, which lets us link visits that likely come from one device, here and on other websites that share our analytics. It cannot be reversed into your IP address or user agent, and we neither store those nor send them to our analytics provider. Offices and mobile networks put many people behind one connection, so the device key is only an approximate signal.
Writing to us
When you write to us through the contact page, we collect your email address, your message, your name if you choose to give one, and the approximate country your connection appears to come from, which our hosting provider tells our server. We do not store your IP address or your user agent with the message.
We read your message and, where it needs an answer, reply to it; that is all we do with it. A database service provider in the United States stores it for us, and it is deleted once it is 12 months old. It is never used for marketing and is passed on to no one but those service providers.
To have a message deleted before then, ask us through the same contact page and say which email address you wrote from.
Children's privacy
The Site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. Our hosting provider processes request data and our analytics provider processes analytics events, both on our behalf as described above. We disclose information when the law requires it. Messages sent through the contact form are stored by our database provider, also on our behalf.
Your privacy choices
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honor it: we set no cookie and remove one set earlier, compute no device key, pass no visitor ID in links to a company we recommend, and record your page views only under an anonymous ID that changes every day and differs from site to site, so we do not follow you across visits.
- Visitors in Europe, the UK and Switzerland. The same rules apply automatically when your connection appears to come from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or when we cannot tell where it comes from.
- Your rights. Laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and the GDPR may give you rights of access, correction and deletion, depending on where you live.
Write to us
To ask about your privacy or to have a message you sent us deleted, write to us through the form on our contact page.
